In a bombshell interview on The Joe Rogan Experience, Elon Musk and Joe Rogan tore into the suspicious circumstances surrounding the July 13, 2024, assassination attempt on President Donald Trump at his Butler, Pennsylvania rally—a rally that, curiously, was the only Trump event CNN bothered to stream live during the entire campaign.
Now, billionaire investor Bill Ackman is demanding answers, calling for an investigation into why the far-left network broke its pattern of ignoring Trump rallies just in time to broadcast an attempt on his life.
During the podcast, Rogan and Musk pointed out the troubling anomalies in the Butler rally incident.
Rogan highlighted the fact that the gunman, who had an unusually clean digital footprint, had been positioned in a location that the Secret Service had inexplicably left unsecured.
Adding to the intrigue, CNN chose to stream the Butler rally live, something it had not done for any other Trump campaign event.
Joe Rogan: “Everyone stopped asking questions, and there was never a formal report. There was never press conferences where they detailed all the information we know currently and where the investigation stands at the moment.
What we know is you have a very young kid who was filmed. They knew he was there with a range finder half an hour before the event. You also know that CNN streamed it live, which I do not believe they did for any other rally, and certainly not for a rally that’s in the middle of nowhere in Pennsylvania. There’s a lot of weird s**t.”

CNN did not provide live broadcasts of Donald Trump’s rallies in 2024. July 13 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, appears to be the only time CNN aired Trump’s rally live.
American billionaire hedge fund manager, who is the founder and chief executive officer of Pershing Square Capital Management, Bill Ackman, echoed Rogan’s concerns.
“What are the chances CNN was tipped off to stream the Butler rally?” Ackman asked on social media. “Why isn’t this worthy of an investigation? It shouldn’t be too hard to figure out who ordered the coverage and why.”
While Ackman stated he wasn’t directly accusing CNN of foreknowledge, he suggested the possibility that someone in the network was advised that “something interesting” would happen, prompting them to cover this event.
“I am not suggesting that someone at CNN knew about the assassination attempt, but it is in the realm of possibility that CNN was advised that something interesting would take place that motivated them to cover the Butler rally, having apparently not streamed other Trump rallies. If true, that’s a lead worth pursuing in my view.”
