Ontario Prime Minister Doug Ford Announces He is “Ripping Up” Starlink Contract in Response to Trump Tariffs (VIDEO)

Here we go.

Ontario Prime Minister Doug Ford continued his attacks on the United States on Tuesday by canceling a Starlink contract in response to Trump’s tariffs on Canadian imports.

On Monday night Doug Ford threatened the US over President Trump’s plans to impose tariffs on Canadian exports.

“And I don’t want to. We keep the lights on for 1.5 million homes in manufacturing in New York, in Michigan, and in Minnesota,” Doug Ford said in an interview with NBC News on Monday.

“If he wants to destroy our economy and our families, I will shut down the electricity going down to the U.S. And I’m telling you, we will do it,” Doug Ford said.

Trump’s 25% tariffs on Canadian and Mexican imports went into effect at midnight.

After Doug Ford said he’s going to make red states in America “feel the pain like they’ve never felt before, he lashed out at Trump again on Tuesday following Justin Trudeau’s press conference.

“We’re ripping up Ontario’s contract with Starlink – it’s done – it’s gone,” Doug Ford said. “We won’t award contracts to people who enable and encourage economic attacks on our province and our country.”

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau responded by imposing a 25% levy on billions of dollars of US imports and more tariffs will be imposed by the end of March.

On Tuesday, Trudeau delivered remarks at a presser on Parliament Hill in Ottawa and ripped President Trump for imposing tariffs.

“I want to speak first, directly to the American people. We don’t want this. We want to work with you as a friend and ally and we don’t want to see you hurt, either. But your government has chosen to do this to you. As of this morning markets are down and inflation is set to rise dramatically all across your country. Your government has chosen to put American jobs at risk at the thousands of workplaces that succeed because of materials from Canada or because of consumers in Canada, or both,” Trudeau said, flanked by Foreign Minister Melanie Joy and Minister of Finance and Intergovernmental Affairs Dominic Leblanc.

Trudeau accused Trump of harming American national security.
