The Gateway Pundit first applied for this press pass 8 years ago and we were denied by the committee made up of left-wing media operatives.

Today’s news comes after another Gateway Pundit call to the Periodical Press Office last week.
The Executive Committee has blocked The Gateway Pundit (and other conservative outlets) from the press gallery in the past preventing us from covering the news to our readers from inside the House and Senate buildings
For the record, The Gateway Pundit was formally recognized by the White House Communications Department last month. Our stellar DC reporter Jordan Conradson is now frequently present in the White House press pool.
The major sea change in Washington reporting is happening because of President Trump’s commitment to diverse voices in media, which includes allowing popular outlets and platforms access to government press conferences, briefings, and events. In the past, this effort was tightly controlled and curtailed by the media itself.
On January 28, 2025 the Trump White House announced that it would be issuing credentials directly to press outlets, instead of letting the White House Press Association control the process. Spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt encouraged new and upstart media to have access to the Executive branch, an elite privilege previously reserved for corporate media outlets.
The mainstream media is very left-wing and unrepresentative of the American public. Everyone in America is aware of this. This is reflected in polling showing that the trust in the mainstream media, legacy media usually bankrolled by the interests of far-left billionaires, is at an all-time low.
Over the last few years, the lying liberal media has consistently and chronically gotten major stories wrong. The media was wrong about Russia interfering in U.S. elections, it was wrong about Russian connections to Trump in the 2016 elections. The media was wrong when they downplayed the systemic voter fraud in the 2020 elections. It was wrong about COVID in a wide variety of ways, including the Lab-Leak thesis, the efficacy of masks, social distancing, and shutdowns. The mainstream media, corporate legacy media, has rarely reported a completely truthful story about Donald Trump. The mainstream media labeled these topics as “misinformation” or “disinformation” or “Russian propaganda” as a way to deplatform, demonetize, and dismiss these ideas, outlets, reporters.
And, The Gateway Pundit was ALWAYS leading the country in our reporting of these important topics.
The U.S. government and the U.S. military got into the process by setting up “Disinformation Offices” and also coercing social media companies to shadowban, ‘throttle’, delete, suppress, outlets like the Gateway Pundit and even individual citizens. The relevant underlying case about this is Missouri v. Biden, which is still ongoing in a Louisiana federal district court.
Despite that ongoing crisis of credibility, legacy media outlets often control and build moats around official credentialing organizations to further shut-out alternative and dissident media.
The U.S. Capitol Periodicals Press Gallery is responsible for overseeing press credentials and access for print and digital journalists covering Congress. It operates under the authority of the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration and the House Committee on Rules, ensuring that journalists meet eligibility requirements and adhere to guidelines for reporting from Capitol Hill. The office manages credentialing for daily newspapers, wire services, magazines, and other periodicals, verifying that applicants are full-time, independent journalists engaged in original news reporting. It also coordinates workspace assignments within the Capitol, provides logistical support, and enforces rules regarding conduct and press access to congressional proceedings.
The Gateway Pundit, founded by Jim Hoft in 2004, receives an average of 3.8 million daily page visits and is the 5th ranked online conservative media outlet in the country today.
