Deshawn Dante Leeth Credit: Ohio State Highway Patrol
A crazed Michigan man paid the ultimate price after deciding to mess with police officers before and following an insane stolen car chase.
As MLive reported last week, 30-year-old Deshawn Dante Leeth was fatally shot around 6:05 p.m. on April 4 after he attacked an Ohio State Trooper and stole the cop’s car. The trooper had responded to a single-vehicle crash on the Ohio Turnpike when Leeth began assaulting the officer.
In video footage released by the Ohio State Highway Patrol this week, Leeth appears to be screaming, “I’m Jesus, b**ch!” over and over again as he attacks the trooper as if a demon possessed him.
The officer uses a Taser on Leeth, but to no avail. Leeth then jumps into the officer’s vehicle and speeds east into Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania State Police then start chasing after Leeth before he crashes the stolen police vehicle in North Sewickley, Beaver County.
A major fight then ensued after Pennsylvania troopers approached the car. It ends with the cops killing Leeth in self-defense.
The Beaver County District Attorney is investigating the incident, and multiple troopers have been placed on administrative leave.
MLive notes Leeth was previously incarcerated after pleading guilty to eight home invasion charges and two larceny charges across separate cases in 2012 and 2016. He was discharged in 2023.
After his release from jail, Leeth began focusing on helping at-risk youth. He was the founder and executive director of Underdawg Nation, a nonprofit focused on assisting Washtenaw County children potentially impacted by community violence.
Alyshia Dyer, Washtenaw County sheriff, issued a statement on her Facebook account mourning Leeth’s death last week.
“Words can’t express how heartbroken we are to learn about the sudden and tragic loss of Deshawn Leeth—a true community champion, tireless youth advocate, and courageous soul,” Dyer wrote. “Our entire WCSO team is deeply saddened by the news we received today. Like so many in the community, we are left in shock, with unanswered questions and profound sorrow.”
“His loss will be deeply felt by the young people across our county whose lives he touched,” she added. “No matter who you were or what you had been through, Deshawn showed unwavering compassion and care to everyone he worked with.”
