Illegal alien lawbreakers and sanctuary cities got a dose of bad news on Friday after a federal judge gave the green light for ICE to carry out raids in public schools.
As Fox News reported, U.S. District Court Judge Daniel Domenico, who was nominated by President Trump, ruled against the Denver Public Schools’ efforts to bar immigration officials from carrying out raids on school grounds, marking a massive win for the Trump Administration in their mass deportation strategy.
The Gateway Pundit’s Cassandra MacDonald previously reported that Denver Public Schools filed a federal lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem last month over a policy allowing ICE immigration agents to enter schools.
This reversed a previous policy from the Biden regime issued in 2021.
The lawsuit claimed that the policy caused attendance to plummet due to the number of illegal aliens in the district. There are roughly 4,000 illegals in the school district, primarily Hispanic.
“DPS is hindered in fulfilling its mission of providing education and life services to the students who are refraining from attending DPS schools for fear of immigration enforcement actions occurring on DPS school grounds,” the lawsuit states.
“Parents across Denver enroll their children in public schools believing that while at school, their children will be educated and enriched without fear the government will enforce immigration laws on those premises,” the lawsuit continues.
Because of this, Denver Public Schools claimed that attendance dropped and sought a preliminary injunction. But Judge Domenico denied it, explaining that they did not prove how declining attendance was due to hypothetical enforcement actions or actual immigration actions occurring.
He wrote that Denver Public Schools had not yet experienced any raids and that the head of ICE also issued an order to its officers that immigration arrests at so-called “sensitive places” needed approval from supervisors.
“The fear over the new rules, as well as the belief that the old rules provided protection to schools, both seem to be “overstated,” Domenico said.
Denver Public Schools said they were disappointed with the ruling but claimed they were successful in exposing details of the Trump administration immigration rules.
This ruling comes after mayors of the most pro-illegal immigrant cities, including Michelle Wu of Boston, Brandon Johnson of Chicago, Mike Johnston of Denver, and Eric Adams of New York, testified Wednesday morning before the House Oversight Committee regarding their refusal to cooperate with federal immigration authorities.
The hearing was marked by multiple blowups from congressional Democrats and with Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) referring the mayors to the DOJ for investigation.
