Trump Continues Firing Spree — Terminates Nation’s Top Copyright Official at Library of Congress Following Ouster of Radical Obama-Appointed Librarian

Just days after firing radical Obama appointee Carla Hayden — the embattled Librarian of Congress accused of injecting far-left gender ideology into children’s materials — Trump has now terminated U.S. Copyright Office Director Shira Perlmutter, the highest-ranking copyright official in the nation.

The Gateway Pundit previously reported that watchdog group American Accountability Foundation (AAF) demanded that both Hayden and Perlmutter be removed for using their taxpayer-funded positions to push progressive dogma instead of protecting intellectual property and American values.

“The President and his team have done an admirable and long-needed job cleaning out deep state liberals from the federal government,” AAF told the Daily Mail in late April.

“It is time they show Carla Hayden and Shira Perlmutter the door and return an America First agenda to the nation’s intellectual property regulation.”

And that’s exactly what President Trump just did.

President Trump abruptly fired the Democrat Librarian of Congress on Thursday.

Hayden, appointed by Obama in 2016, made history as the first black woman to serve as Librarian of Congress — but conservatives argue her legacy is one of radicalism, not scholarship. Under her watch, the Library of Congress became a platform for leftist identity politics, including drag queen story hours, LGBTQ+ children’s literature showcases, and DEI initiatives laced with CRT buzzwords.

Now, Trump has fired her hand-picked protégé: Shira Perlmutter, Director of the U.S. Copyright Office.

According to Politico, Perlmutter was informed Saturday afternoon that her position had been “terminated,” effective immediately.

According to the Daily Mail:

Hayden appointed Shira Perlmutter as the Director of U.S. Copyright Office in 2020 which has also raised concerns from activists as she made extensive political donations to former Vice President Kamala Harris, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former President Barack Obama and New York Democratic senators Kirsten Gillibrand and Chuck Schumer.

The organization raised concerns about Perlmutter’s support for European-style online censorship and endorsing a ‘three strikes’ rule for individuals downloading copyrighted material on the internet.

‘Good things are beginning to come to pass’ as a result of the draconian rule, she explained at a forum, prior to her appointment in the copyright office.

Rep. Joe Morelle (D-NY), the top Democrat on the House Administration Committee, fumed that the firing of Perlmutter was “no coincidence” and blamed Trump for acting in retaliation after Perlmutter reportedly refused to “rubber-stamp” tech billionaire Elon Musk’s ability to use publicly available works to train AI models.

Donald Trump’s termination of Register of Copyrights, Shira Perlmutter, is a brazen, unprecedented power grab with no legal basis.

It’s surely no coincidence he acted less than a day after she refused to rubber-stamp Elon Musk’s efforts to mine troves of copyrighted works to…
