Zelensky will not participate in the Anchorage, Alaska, summit on Friday between Trump and Putin.
The anticipation is mounting for the historic Friday summit in Alaska between US President Donald J. Trump and Russia’s Vladimir Putin.
Today (12), the White House confirmed Trump-Putin summit in Anchorage, Alaska calling it ‘listening exercise’
New York Post reported:
“President Trump will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday in Anchorage, Alaska, the White House confirmed Tuesday.
‘There were many sites discussed, but of course, Alaska is a state within the United States of America, so the president is very honored’, press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters during her regular briefing.”
The Trump administration has also confirmed that Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky ‘has been sidelined’ from the summit.
Fox News reported:
“’The president is agreeing to this meeting, at the request of President Putin’, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters Tuesday. ‘And the goal of this meeting for the president is to walk away with a better understanding of how we can end this war’.
‘I think the president of the United States getting in the room with the president of Russia, sitting face-to-face rather than speaking over the telephone will give this president the best indication of how to end this war and where this is headed’, Leavitt said.”
Watch: Yesterday, Trump has already been clear about it.
“Was Zelensky not invited on Friday (to Alaska)?”
Trump: “He was not part of it. I would say he could have come, but he has already been to many meetings. He has been there for 3.5 years, and nothing has happened.” pic.twitter.com/NaJxD4H51E

And now, we have further confirmation from Karoline Leavitt.
Karoline Leavitt says President Trump is pushing for a face-to-face meeting with Vladimir Putin to cut through the ‘game of telephone’ and work toward ending the war — saying direct talks could finally bring it to a close. pic.twitter.com/kjS6BiVQrf
