(VIDEO) Trump Confirms that He will Speak to Putin After Meetings with Zelensky and European Leaders – “We May or May Not Have a Trilateral… He’s Expecting my Call When We’re Finished.”

President Trump on Monday told reporters in the Oval Office that he is planning to call Russian President Vladimir Putin following his meeting with Zelensky, and he hopes to schedule a trilateral peace summit with himself, Putin, and Zelensky.

When asked about his discussions with Putin, Trump revealed that he is “going to have a phone call right after these meetings today.”

He continued, “we may or may not have a trilat.”

“If we have a trilat, there’s a good chance of maybe ending it,” Trump said of the war between Ukraine and Russia.

Trump: We just spoke to— I was just telling the President,. I just spoke to President Putin indirectly, and we’re going to have a phone call right after these meetings today, and we may or may not have a trilat. If we don’t have a trilat, then the fighting continues. And if we do, we have a good chance, I think, if we have a trilat, there’s a good chance of maybe ending it. But he’s expecting my call when we’re finished with this meeting. Thank you very much.

This comes after Trump met with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday, and the two came to an agreement to secure peace, pending Ukraine and NATO cooperation.

Following his bilateral meeting with Putin, Trump revealed that he had spoken to NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, other European leaders, and Zelensky, and that “It was determined by all that the best way to end the horrific war between Russia and Ukraine is to go directly to a Peace Agreement.”

President Trump is scheduled to hold a multilateral meeting with Zelensky, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, French President Emmanuel Macron, and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer this afternoon.
